About the challenge

The Bronte Off Road Bike Challenge 2025, organised by the Manorlands Cycling Events Fundraising Group and sponsored by All Terrain Cycles and Pure Lettings Residential, is a popular event with routes suitable for all standards of mountain bike and gravel bikes. This will be the 16th Bronte Mountain Bike Challenge.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors at All Terrain Cycles and Pure Lettings, all entry fees go straight towards supporting Sue Ryder’s care. While there is no obligation to raise additional funds through sponsorship, those who raise £50 or more will be entered into a prize draw to win a mystery bike-related prize from our sponsors at All Terrain Cycles.

As in previous years, there is a team entry for groups of four people in all the routes.

Bronte Half Marathon

As an added bonus, the Bronte Half Marathon run will take place on the same day. Why not take on the 26.2 mile Charlotte ride route and challenge a runner to run exactly half your distance and see who can get back first?

The routes

Three of our four routes - Charlotte, Emily and Anne - take their names from the three Bronte Sisters who lived in Haworth and were inspired in their writing by the stunning and challenging landscape that the routes navigate.

The fourth route - Heathcliff - takes its name from one of their best-known characters who spent many hours out on the Pennine moors, as you will do if you select that route.

The Anne route is suitable for the family and children who have ridden in this type of terrain and landscape before, although there are some sections where less experienced and fit riders might need to dismount. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Start times

The Anne, Heathcliff, Charlotte and Emily routes all start at 9.00am.

All routes start and finish at Haworth West End Cricket Club.

All participants will receive a bespoke Bronte MTB Challenge water bottle courtesy of our sponsor Pure Lettings, and a well-earned complimentary hot meal at the finish.
