Our commitment to sustainability
Sue Ryder is committed to embedding sustainable working practices across the charity to ensure a viable future for all.

We are working towards a new sustainable model of care, and believe this should also extend to the world we live in. We are continually looking to reduce our impact on the environment through using research-based solutions. Together, we can make sure that everyone, and the planet, can be cared for in the years to come.
We commit to:
- Scopes 1 and 2 - transition to Net Zero, which means to reduce harmful greenhouse gases across all our operations and reduce our direct emissions that we control by 2035.
- Scope 3 - reduce our indirect emissions that are not controlled by us by 2050.
Our headline sustainability strategy is set across three core pillars: our operations, our supply chain and products, and our people:
- We will work towards the decarbonisation of the Sue Ryder estate, improve energy and water efficiency, reduce waste and commit to low or zero carbon transport.
- Our new sustainable procurement principles will be embedded within our supply chain, helping us to source products with traceable and ethical provenance, and work with our partners to support sustainable transitions.
- Sue Ryder will support employees and volunteers by providing sustainability training. Our people will feel empowered to take ethical responsibility and actions across our operations. Our commitment to developing sustainable communities, partnerships, and networks across local areas is vital to our role as a responsible organisation.
