Corporate volunteering
You can support Sue Ryder by volunteering in the grounds of one of our hospices, at a Sue Ryder event, or in one of our nearly 400 shops all around the UK.
We had an amazing day volunteering with Sue Ryder and it really brought us together as a team.
How would you like to volunteer?
Sue Ryder relies of the dedication and generosity of volunteers to run nearly 400 charity shops across the country.
Small teams can lend a hand in our shops all year round, on dates to suit you. Group sizes will be dependent on your nearest or most conveniently located shop.
Don’t forget to bring a bag! You can boost your retail day by bringing along your own unwanted goods from home to sell as well as using creative ways to entice the public into the shop.
Garden days are all about supporting our teams with practical tasks to keep your local Sue Ryder hospice looking its beautiful best. You’ll be helping with projects like planting, clearing overgrown areas and general garden maintenance.
We prioritise offering our corporate partners a garden day between April and October and will try to accommodate companies we are not partnered with where possible.
Your visit to our grounds will include a tour of the hospice so you can understand more about how we can support people at the end of their life.
Each year our events raise thousands of pounds to help keep our services running and we always need a helping hand when it comes to things like Starlight Hike or our tree-mendous Treecycling scheme.
Activities on the day might include:
setting up or packing down events in the grounds of your local Sue Ryder hospice or at an event venue
helping on the days of our events – roles may include serving refreshments, hosting a games stall, marshalling a route, registration desks or selling raffle tickets.
We can provide information on upcoming events and any volunteering needs as required.
Each year, amazing people choose to join Team Sue Ryder and run, cycle, walk and much more to raise vital funds for our services.
At some of the biggest events around the UK we need an enthusiastic squad to manage our cheer stations and help out at any post-race celebrations. These events have incredible atmospheres and make for a great day out – if you and a team of cheerers like the sound of this opportunity, we can let you know what major sporting events we might need a hand at. We’d particularly love your support if one of your colleagues is competing in the challenge!
Short on time? Lend a hand for just an hour or two at a bucket collection close to your home or office. We hold bucket collections in the community throughout the year and the more volunteers we have throughout the day, the more money we can raise for Sue Ryder.
We have worked with Accenture, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley on impactful pro bono projects. Please let us know if you think your skills and expertise could help further Sue Ryder’s mission.
Grief costs the UK economy £23bn a year through reduced productivity. We can help you make sure employees feel supported in the workplace and meet their full potential.
