How the National Garden Scheme have helped Sue Ryder
In 2023, Sue Ryder became part of the National Garden Scheme’s Gardens and Health programme.
Through the National Garden Scheme’s generous support, Sue Ryder was able to bring to life a series of stunning garden designs by RHS Chelsea Flower Show gold medal-winning designer, Peter Dowle, around the grounds of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Hospice.
Gardens play an important role in the care we provide, with peaceful gardens at each of our hospices, providing space for patients and family members to spend time and create cherished memories.
How Sue Ryder supports National Garden Scheme
Sue Ryder are supporters of the National Garden Scheme Open Days scheme, with our Cheltenham hospice opening its grounds to the public as part of the initiative each year.
Inviting the general public into the grounds of our hospices helps to dispel myths about hospices being places where you simply go to die. Hospices are about living and creating memories and providing the best experience possible for patients and their families at the most difficult time of their lives.
