December.DailyDash@sueryder.orgWinter can be tough, but getting active every day can boost your wellbeing and help keep you motivated. Whether you're pounding the pavements on your 5k run, enjoying a leisurely stroll on your treadmill or taking part in a relay with friends, you'll be part of a supportive community of dashers.
How can I take part?
Set your own pace and distance. Walk, jog or run 1k, 3k or 5k every day this December and raise vital funds for Sue Ryder.
Join the December Daily Dash and you will receive:
- A supportive Dash community to help you motivate in our Facebook and Strava groups.
- A free Dash merchandise item after your first sponsorship donation.
- An exclusive Dash medal once you have completed your challenge.
Every step you take will make a difference
Just under 50% of all people dying in England receive palliative care. But estimates suggest up to 90% may need it.
Just imagine what it must feel like for people facing death who don't receive the specialist end-of-life care they need. Instead of their final days being peaceful and dignified, they face a painful, isolated experience.
No one deserves this. And it just doesn't have to be this way. By completing your challenge and raising sponsorship, you can help provide expert care, ensuring that fewer people face death or grief alone.
Mike and Brenda's story
If you're considering signing up for the December Daily Dash, Mike and Brenda's story shows the tangible and impactful difference your fundraising will make.
Mike’s partner Brenda died a few weeks before Christmas while Mike was fundraising for the December Daily Dash. He’s done the dash every year since and on the anniversary of Brenda's death, Mike always does his 5K around the grounds of one of Sue Ryder's hospices in Cheltenham.
