A walk under the stars

Starlight Hike Leeds, our biggest fundraising event of the year, returns on Saturday 5th October at 7.00pm. This event invites people to walk under the stars whilst raising funds in memory of their loved ones.

Get together with friends and family to walk the 5k or 10k route around the vibrant market town of Otley. In the shadow of the iconic Chevin, this night time walk crosses the River Wharfe and meanders though Otley.

With entertainment on route and a dedication area where you can take a moment to remember a loved one, this is an event not to be missed.

On the night

  • 5.15pm – Parking opens
  • 5.30pm – Registration open / Sign-in for online entries open / Entertainment commences
  • 7.00pm – Walks starts
  • 11.00pm – Event ends.

These timings are subject to change.

Together we can ensure no one has to face dying or grief alone

Last year over 8,700 people across the country were cared for by Sue Ryder’s hospice teams, including from our Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice or in their own homes in the community.

Our dedicated Sue Ryder Nurses manage patients' pain and symptoms, enabling them to spend their final days surrounded by family and friends.

By taking part in Sue Ryder Starlight Hike you’re helping ensure people approaching the end of their life or grieving can access the right support at the right time. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but together we can ensure, no one has to face dying or grief alone.
