At Sue Ryder, we’re not able to provide emergency support to anyone in crisis because our staff and moderators are not trained to offer this support. If you’re looking for urgent support, you can reach out to any of the organisations listed below:
Samaritans
Samaritans are available 24/7 to talk about anything that you are worried about. You can call them on 116 123 or email them at jo@samaritans.org.

Urgent help for mental health
England, Scotland and Wales
If you need urgent help with your mental health, you can call 111 and choose the mental health option to speak to a trained mental health professional (England, Scotland and Wales only).
You can also get help from 111 online, where you can check your mental health symptoms and get advice about what you should do next.
Northern Ireland
Lifeline is a free 24 hour crisis response helpline for if you or someone you know is in distress or despair.
NI Direct offer information and advice on mental health support.
Papyrus
Papyrus provides help for young people up to the age of 35 at risk of suicide. Call: 0800 068 41 41, text: 88247 or email pat@papyrus-uk.org. Opening hours are: 10am – 10pm weekdays, 2pm – 10pm weekends, and 2pm – 10pm on bank holidays.
