Equity, diversity and inclusion
We are working hard to create a culture where all people feel safe, confident and are valued for the unique contribution they bring to our organisation. At Sue Ryder, we embrace and welcome everyone.

We’ve made great progress so far, but we know there’s lots more to do. We want our teams to include people from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives who can bring their knowledge and lived experiences to the many roles across Sue Ryder, from our healthcare and fundraising teams to retail roles in our charity shops.
Our aim is for our workforce to reflect the people we support through our end-of-life care and bereavement services, and the communities we serve across the UK.

Join our Equity and Inclusion Networks
We believe in the power of volunteer networks to help us create a culture that is representative, vibrant and supportive. We have four networks that bring together people with shared lived experiences and shared identities, as well as allies who would like to support their work.
These networks are:
- Ethnic Diversity and Equity network
- People with Disabilities network
- LGBTQ+ network
- Women and Non-Binary Individuals network
Our networks meet virtually, usually on a monthly basis. They provide peer support in a safe space and help drive positive change in the charity. Everyone is welcome, no matter their background or experience.

We hope seeing Sue Ryder staff and volunteers wearing the rainbow badge will help LGBTQ+ people to feel welcome and create an inclusive culture across our organisation, from our shops and warehouse to our offices and care centres.
