Wellbeing, mental health and financial wellbeing
Wellbeing and mental health is a priority at Sue Ryder, both within different teams and across the organisation as part of the “We are Sue Ryder” culture development programme.
A happy and positive working experience
We reinforce good wellbeing practices across the charity and ensure that your working experience with us is a happy and positive one, in an open, honest and inclusive environment.

Mental Health Awareness: three ways to seek support
It is very important to consider the emotional wellbeing of ourselves and others. We have lots of help, guidance and support available.
Below, we have three ways you can seek support if you need to. Remember, you are not alone. Be kind to yourself. Make the most of our resources and let someone know if you’re struggling and need some help.
Providing volunteers across the charity with regular support and a friendly face, our volunteer buddy scheme means you'll have someone to talk to about your questions or problems.
Upcoming wellbeing sessions
To help support your wellbeing, we have set up some online learning sessions which cover different topics. You can find out more about these upcoming sessions below.

Financial wellbeing
At Sue Ryder, we want to support all of our volunteers through the cost-of-living crisis. Here, we have guidance, advice and further resources to help you manage your financial wellbeing during this difficult time.
Our financial wellbeing guidance
We have created five new financial wellbeing guidance sheets, which you are welcome download, or print and keep. These cover the following topics:
- Budgeting
- Financial wellbeing and mental health
- What to do if you can’t pay your bills
- Help with food
- Help save fuel
We hope these financial tools and tips will help to support colleagues navigating through the cost-of-living crisis.
