Growing our Grief Kind Spaces

We have been busy expanding our vital bereavement services so we can help even more people living with grief. This has included opening more Sue Ryder Grief Kind Spaces – 26 at the time of writing – in communities across England.

These weekly, in-person drop-in sessions are led by trained volunteers and held in venues such as community centres, sports clubs and cafes. They are giving people living with grief access to support and the opportunity to chat to others, share feelings and feel less alone.

We are thrilled to have the backing of Leeds Rhino rugby star and Sue Ryder Ambassador Jamie Peacock, who helped us launch a new Grief Kind Space at the city’s AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium.

Jamie said: “Sue Ryder will always have a special place in my family’s heart because of the expert and compassionate care they were able to give my dad, and the time with Dad that they gave to me and my family before he passed away.”

Another exciting development will see Village Hotels partnering with us, with the aim of hosting Grief Kind Spaces across the hotel chain.
